Here are the best feeding products that I recommend, categorized by age, taking into account different milestones that babies go through until they are 2 years old.
3-6 months: Introducing milk and first purees
Bottles
I use the Dr Browns, but Avent are also good to mimic breastfeeding to reduce nipple confusion. They’re often included in infant feeding sets designed to support early-stage feeding.
Drooling bibs
I use both soft material and water resistant ones. Both great!
Burping cloths
I don’t really use them much, although I have them. My baby never spat up much. But they can be used for other purposes so it’s good to have a few around.
Breastfeeding products
Lansinoh Stay Dry Disposable Nursing Pads(if you are dripping in between feeds)
Contact Nipple Shields for Breastfeeding(if your baby bites or can’t latch. Get a you size!)
Hot and Cold Breast Pads (if you have engorged breast or experience pain)
Momcozy Pumping Bra (you basically live in this thing – so better be a good one)
See the full list of product recommendation for breastfeeding, pumping and bottle feeding. If you’re planning to breastfeeding stop milk production when weaning, consider consulting your pediatrician for a gradual approach.
High chairs
I use the famous Tripp Trapp from Stokke. I like the fact that the foot tray can be adjusted so that the legs are always in a 90 degree bent – as recommended. What I hate is the food tray because no plates with suction stick on it – you actually have to buy extra film/mat to add to it if you want the suction cups/plates. Otherwise it’s easier to clean, no folds and cracks where the food can get stuck.
I also tried the Clikk model from Stoke – although it had a very sleek design, I returned it because I didn’t think it was sturdy enough for a kid that moves a lot.
6-9 months: Starting solid foods, finger foods and water
Baby spoons
I absolutely love this Olababy training spoons for Baby Led Weaning. Their shape was researched by pediatricians.
Plates and bowls with suction
I tried silicone plates, cups and bowls and I threw them all out. If you ever taste the food after touching silicone you know what I mean. Yaak! Hence I recommend the items below, but honestly everything non-silicone works.
Sippy cups
Baby food makers
I use the Ninja food processor to make purees for the baby. However, if you want to steam and blend, the Bear one is great. Having reliable infant feeding tools like these makes food prep so much easier.
Silicone bibs
I don’t like silicone for plates/bowls, except for bibs. It’s easy to clean and it keeps its shape so the food actually falls inside the bib.
9-12 months: Increasing variety in diet and self-feeding
Organic food pouches
I honestly didn’t have time to make purees much, so I just bought organic food pouches especially when on the go.
Reusable food pouches
If you want to make your own purees there is there are reusable food pouches for on-the-go.
Snack containers
12-24 months: Transitioning to cow milk and independent eating
Baby plates and bowls – baby feeding supplies
Transition cups
I used the Reflo Smart cup to transition the baby from bottle to cup when drinking milk.
Toddler utensils
Toddler utensils
I use the ones in the case for on-the-go. I always have one case in my diaper bag together with a bib, so that if we eat somewhere out, I have everything I need. The Munchkin one I like because of the food stopper on the handle. Less messy 🙂
High chair portable
I have both. I use the Hiccapop when we travel by car and do Airbnb – as usually they don’t have a high chair. The other one I carry it in my diaper bag for whenever the restaurants are out of high chairs (usually outside USA).
