My daughter is starting to walk only now at 11 months, but she keeps falling. She’s eager to move around, but I’m worried about her constant falling. We have baby-proofed the house, but she still gets bumps and bruises. Is this normal, and how can I help her walk more steadily?

Yes, falls are a normal part of learning to walk. Ensure your home is safe, use baby gates, and provide plenty of encouragement and support. Soft-soled shoes or sticky socks can help her grip the floor better. Or just bare foot! Supervise and give her something stable to hold onto while walking can also help. We used some soft blocks for her to pull up.
